Indian Navy’s Warship INS Vikramaditya To Be The First Ever Warship With An Satellite Link ATM on board

Setting a record, INS Vikramaditya, India’s biggest warship and Indian Navy’s only operational aircraft carrier will soon become world’s first warship to have an ATM onboard and one to be operated by satellite link Asked to comment, Capt DK Sharma told Defenceaviationpost.com, that as INS Vikramaditya is based in Karwar (Karnataka), where town is quiet far from the jetty, the 1500 plus navy personnel deployed on board have to travel a distance of 4-5 kms to access ATM facilities.

ATM machine to be provided by the State Bank of India will be inaugurated on January 28 in Karwar, Karnataka where INS Vikramaditya is based.

As Chairman of SBI Mrs Arundhatti Bhattacharya is in Davos, another senior official will be present at the ceremony. Russia built INS Vikramaditya was commissioned in Indian Navy in November 2013 and later on June 14 2014,
Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inducted the warship into the Indian Navy and dedicated it to the nation.
