APO wants to procure processed food products for army from food manufacturers, suppliers


The Army Purchase Organisation (APO) wants to procure a large quantity of processed food products for the needs of the army. The All India Food Processors’s Association said in a communication to industry associations.

The army has requested the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) to publicise the requirements of the APO among its network and assisted units so that a nation-wide vendor base could be developed and competition occurs. The APO has provided specification of the products and the requirements of suppliers along with documentary formalities expected of suppliers.

A meeting was also organised on October 22nd with the representatives of Army and the major national industry associations, viz., CII, FICCI, PHDCCI, ASSOCHAM, ICC, FINER, DICCI AND AIFPA  to understand the requirement of APO and to develop a suitable method of publicising the same.  Read More
