After several months, UAE lifted restrictions on return of fully vaccinated residents from several counties including India. A new set of relaxed travel guidelines by the country’s National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA) and Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) came into effect starting Sunday.
The new guidelines allow UAE resident visa holders who have completed all the doses of WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccines to return.
It allowed such residents from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, Nigeria and Afghanistan to return to the country.
The decision to lift the travel restrictions comes as Dubai, one of the seven emirates of UAE, gears up to conduct Expo 2020 world fair which starts from October 1, 2021, after a year-long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
