‘Anyone who picks arms against State will be neutralised’: Army Commander on terrorists gunned down in Tral

Barely hours after a top terrorist commander was gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora district, the Indian Army on Friday said that anybody who picks up arms against the country will be neutralized.

“Anyone who picks arms against the State will be neutralized if they do not surrender,” Chinar Corps Commander Lt General DP Pandey said.

Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) chief terrorist Imtiyaz Shah was eliminated in the encounter between terrorists and security forces in Nowbugh area of Tral.

“Tral Encounter Update: AGuH chief terrorist Imtiyaz Shah killed in Tral encounter. IGP Kashmir congratulates Police/SFs for the successful operation,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Inspector-General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar congratulated the police and security forces, and said that the upcoming Amarnath Yatra will not face any security blips, come what way.

“Five local terrorists have been killed in an encounter in Shopian. We will ensure foolproof security to conduct the Amarnath Yatra successfully,” IGP Kumar said.
