IndiGo bars 9 journalists from flying for 15 days over unruly conduct in Kangana Ranaut’s flight

BY India Today

IndiGo has decided to bar nine media personnel from flying with the airline for 15 days over their alleged unruly behaviour onboard a flight in which actor Kangana Ranaut was travelling to Mumbai from Chandigarh in September.

Sources in IndiGo say this action was recommended by an internal committee that was set up in the wake of DGCA reprimanding the airline for not acting against mediapersons who allegedly behaved in an unruly fashion.

The incident in question took place on September 9. The journalists have been barred from flying with IndiGo between October 15-30.

Following the September 9 incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had written a strongly worded letter to IndiGo CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, listing out the violations that allegedly took place on the Chandigarh-Mumbai flight.

It was alleged that some mediapersons violated safety and social distancing norms while reporting about Kangana Ranaut, who was travelling to Mumbai.
