Nationalism is a sign of self-confidence, nationalist India is engaging more with the world: EAM Jaishankar

Responding to the critics of nationalism, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that it should not be perceived as a negative emotion adding that to him it is a sign of political self-confidence.

Nationalism to me is a sign of self-confidence and nationalist India is engaging more with the world, said the EAM. He further said that people who are against nationalism come from a different era and culture.

The diplomat-turned-external affairs minister said that nationalist India is doing more for the world adding that from Fiji to Mozambique, India is seen today as a credible first responder in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
