IAF’s decorated veteran Air Marshal MM Singh passes away

Air Marshal MM Singh, one of the highly decorated veterans of the Indian Air Force (IAF) died on Tuesday in Chandigarh. He was 89 years old and was living in Chandigarh after hanging up his boots.

He was cremated as per protocol at the cremation ground of Sector-25, Chandigarh in presence of a limited gathering of family members/relatives and military veterans based in the Tricity of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali.

Air Marshal Singh also served as air officer commanding in chief (AOC-in-C), Western Air Command, which constitutes around 40% assets of the IAF. He was all set to become air force chief in 1988 but had to resign after he was reportedly superseded by the then central government in promotion.
