Terror trails destroyed: Security forces recover ‘Beirut explosive’ from LeT hideout in Jammu and Kashmir

In yet another jolt to the terror networks in Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces, on Thursday, busted two hideouts of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). A huge cache of explosives and ammunition was recovered during a massive search operation in Awantipora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. In the raid, the forces recovered ammonium nitrate, the ‘Beirut explosive’ besides a huge cache of arms.

According to a release by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the operation was launched on the basis of a credible input regarding the presence of terrorists in the forests of Badroo Barsoo. The Awantipora Police, along with Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles unit and 130 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched an operation on the intervening night of August 12-13.

“During a search in the early morning hours, two hideouts of proscribed outfit Lashkar e Toiba were busted and destroyed,” Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
